Meet Steve Stanley

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and attended St. Louis University receiving a BA degree in Chemistry in 1977, Dental School at the University of Missouri in 1982, Southern Illinois University Hospital Residency 1983 and Prosthodontic Residency 1985 at UCLA.  I practiced in Los Angeles and joined Conejo Dental Group in 1996 where I have practiced clinical restorative dentistry since.

I have served on the board of Santa Barbara/Ventura County Dental Society for four years from 2009-2013 and finally as president in 2014. The California Dental Association is a professional organization consisting of 27,000 dentists and is the largest component of the American Dental Association in the United States. I have been a member of the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club since 1996 and have held many board and leadership positions there.

I have worked and lived in Thousand Oaks since 1996 and am married and have one son who attends Newbury Park High. I enjoy hiking and cycling, both mountain and road and volunteer as an assistant coach on the Newbury Park Mountain Biking Team.

Dealing with the public in a somewhat stressful situation as a health care professional has given me an opportunity to develop skills to help accomplish goals for patients that are practical, achievable and  unique to their particular situation.  This set of good listening skills developed with years of experience will help me solve issues that are encountered by the recreation and park department to help continue the excellent work and reputation they have established.  I look forward to serving the community by enhancing CRPD’s already significant footprint in the quality and ambiance of our daily lives.
